
Bobby Jones Earns Gatorade Call-Up to The Miami Heat

NEW YORK, March. 12, 2008 - Sioux Falls Skyforce guard/forward Bobby Jones today earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the Miami Heat. Miami will be the fourth NBA team Jones suits up for this season, in addition to stints with Houston, Denver and Memphis.
During his NBA stints this season, Jones (6-7, 215) has averaged 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds and 9.8 minutes in 36 games (two starts) with the Rockets, Nuggets and Grizzlies.
In three games with Sioux Falls this season, Jones averaged 7.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 23.3 minutes. Thirteen D-League players have made the jump to the NBA this season by way of 17 GATORADE Call-Ups.
Originally selected in the second round (37th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jones' rights were traded to Philadelphia on draft night. During his rookie campaign as a Sixer, Jones averaged 2.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in 44 games (five starts). During his 80-game NBA career, Jones has averaged 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 8.6 minutes.
A four-year contributor at the University of Washington, Jones averaged 24.1 minutes, 9.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 125 games.
Jones will join Miami tonight when the Heat host the New York Knicks at American Airlines Arena. Tip off is set for 7:30 PM ET.
