Bullies Beat Titans, 5-4, in Overtime

Trenton Titans 4 @ ATLANTIC CITY BOARDWALK BULLIES 5 (overtime)

The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies entered Friday's game, losing two of its last three consecutive games in overtime. Against the Titans, it was a different story. Winger J.F. Caudron showcased his offensive skill, tallying a hat trick that included the game-winning goal in overtime as the Bullies defeated intrastate rival Trenton by a final of 5-4.

With a depleted lineup, the Bullies added forwards Andy Gojdycz and Mike Gargiles to the roster prior to the game, after losing Scott Matzka and Mike Nicholishen to injuries, in addition to Ryan Mougenel, Stefan Rivard, and Luke Curtin already on the injured reserve list.

Shawn Maltby earned two assists and extended his scoring streak to 10 games. Maltby now has 12 points (4G,8A) in his last 10 games. Scott Stirling put on a spectacular show in goal, stopping 30 Titans shots. Rookie Jade Galbraith finished the game with three assists.

ATLANTIC CITY BOARDWALK BULLIES 5 @ Dayton Bombers 4 (overtime)

For the second time in two nights, the Bullies headed into overtime against the Trenton Titans. The Titans had the upper hand Saturday and defeated the Bullies by a final of 5-4 in the extra session. Bullies' new addition Kurt Mallett, a former Titan, scored two goals, including one on a power play. Matt Yeats turned aside 41 Titans shots and Trenton's Aaron Davis tallied the game winner, one minute and 46 seconds into overtime. Paul Spadafora netted a goal and added an assist, and Kirk Furey earned two assists in the Bullies' fifth consecutive game with an overtime period. Carl Corazzini scored the other Bullies' goal.

Greensboro Generals 3 @ ATLANTIC CITY BOARDWALK BULLIES 1

For the first time in Generals' history, Greensboro defeated Atlantic City by a final of 3-1, after going 0-6 in two years. Generals netminder Daniel Berthiaume was named the first star of the game for his showstopping performance of 32 saves against the Bullies.

Newcomer Kurt Mallet tallied the only Bullies' goal of the game, and now has three goals in his first two games with the Atlantic City club. Carl Corazzini and Kevin Colley, two much-needed performers, each earned an assist on Mallet's goal.

With several players on injured reserve, the Bullies acquired three new faces, including Mallet, to help keep its roster intact. Defenseman Erik Noack played the 2000-01 season with three clubs in the Western Professional Hockey League and forward Erick James played college hockey at Rensalaar Polytechnic Institute.

Scott Stirling made 27 saves and suffered his third loss this season, making his record 11-3-4.

BULLIES BITES

The Bullies remain atop the Northeast Division with a 19-7-9 record and 47 points in 34 games...All-Star representative Kevin Colley continues to lead the Bullies in scoring with 47 points (23G,24A)...New addition Kurt Mallet has three goals in two games with the Bullies...Rookie Jim Henkel earned his first American Hockey League call-up this week...Henkel was loaned to the Cleveland Barons on Friday, December 27...Shawn Maltby snapped a 10-game scoring streak Saturday against Trenton...Maltby had 12 points on four goals and eight assists in 10 games prior to the Bullies's 5-4 overtime loss to the Titans on Saturday... Jade Galbraith leads all Bullies rookies in scoring with 30 points (10G,20A).

The Bullies will face the Chiefs for the first time this season. It's "Old Time Hockey Night" at the Bullies game on Friday and some concessions, namely, hot dogs, Pepsi-Colas, and popcorn, will be specially discounted. The first 2,500 fans will receive a special old time hockey poster.

The Bullies face the Renegades for the fourth time this season. The Bullies are 2-0-2 against the ‘Gades so far this year. It's Scout Night at the Bullies. All scouts in attendance will receive a special Boardwalk Bullies patch.
