Board of Governors Concludes Mid-Season Meeting

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL Board of Governors recently completed its Mid-Season Meeting. The following items were approved by the Board of Governors.
Evansville IceMen Membership
The Board of Governors approved a Transfer of Home Territory for the Evansville IceMen Membership from Evansville, Indiana to Owensboro, Kentucky.
The Board also approved the IceMen Membership's request for a Voluntary Suspension for the 2016-17 season, to allow time for the necessary renovations of the Owensboro Sportscenter to be completed.
New awards
The Board of Governors approved awarding the Best Ice Award to the team with judged to have the best ice in both the Eastern and Western Conference, as well as the introduction of the General Manager of the Year Award. Both awards will be awarded for the first time following the 2015-16 season.
