Bo Jelovac's Big Presence Welcomed Back to the Silver Knights Again in 2017-18 Season.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - With a penchant for big runs from the defensive half and inspiring his teammates to strive for victory every second of the match, defender Bo Jelovac returns to the Syracuse Silver Knights for the 2017-18 season in the Major Arena Soccer League. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"I'm pretty excited to re-join the team," said Jelovac. "I'm looking forward to our first trip to California next Thursday."
At 6 feet 3 inches tall, Jelovac towers over many of his MASL competitors. His physical presence and speed are real assets for the Silver Knights, and his skill set makes him highly valuable on both ends of the field.
"He is an experienced player and a physical presence on the field," Hall said. "We will be looking to utilize on his size, strength and ability as he is extremely dangerous coming out of the back and can hold the ball for us in the attacking third."
Jelovac begins his sixth season with the Silver Knights. The defender has totaled 43 goals and 41 assists in the MASL and MISL. As one of the longest-tenured players on the roster, the Serbian will play a key role in leading a young Syracuse squad.
"I'll try to lead the best I can," said Jelovac. "I know my first year was really hard. Hopefully I'll help the young players learn as quickly as possible."
Beyond what he has brought to the Dave and Busters Field at the War Memorial Arena at Oncenter, Jelovac has helped some of the best young soccer players in Central New York develop their skills. He also coaches with the Syracuse Development Academy.
"Bo does a terrific job in teaching the youth in Syracuse, and his demeanor is much different than when he is on the field," Silver Knights General Manager Tommy Tanner observed. "When Bo teaches a camp or clinic, you know your child is going to learn and work hard, but, in the end, they will have fun."
When playing for the Silver Knights, Jelovac brings an infectious determination to the field. The veteran of Syracuse is always ready to lead the men in orange, silver, and black.
"Bo brings an intensity to the team that every team needs to have in order to win a championship," Tanner said.
Jelovac leads the Silver Knights in their quest for a championship as the club plays its first game on the road against the Turlock Express. Syracuse opens its home schedule against the Ontario Fury for CNY Celebration of Soccer Home Opener on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:05 in the War Memorial at Oncenter.
