Blues Pound Wildcats behind Patterson Hat Trick

November 10, 2007 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Springfield Jr. Blues News Release

With their third straight win, the Blues seem to be playing some of the team's best hockey of the year. The win streghthens the Blues second place standing in the Central Division.

The blues started out shakey giving the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead but Patterson evened the score 5 minutes later with an assist from Matt Larke.

The second period was a different story as the Blues dominated play and kept the Wildcats on their heels for most of the period. Goals by Patterson(Greco), Steve Mohler(Paine,Rickord), Mike Crowder(pp-Gaffney,Weiss), Matt Globke(Rickord,Mohler), and Patterson(Greco,Larke) made the score 6-1. The Wildcats added a power play goal at the end of the second period and scored the only goal of the third period to close the gap to 6-3. The Blues shut them down for the rest of the period with sharp goaltending by Phil Cook and great defensive play.

The two teams meet again tonight at the Nelson center and a sweep of the series would put Springfield in sole possession of first place in the Division.
