Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release
(Fargo, ND) - Another scoreless streak for the Jets as the Marquette Rangers bury them 5-2 at the John E. Carlson Coliseum Saturday night.
The Rangers turned to Austin Mattson (Livonia, MI) for the first goal and the Jets would end the period trailing 1-0. The Jets mustarded only 10 shots, to Marquette's 17 and they proved to be the difference.
The second seemed to never end as Marquette pounded Jet's tender Elliot Okland (Fargo, ND) with four goals including a soft one that snuck through the five hole. All in all the Jet's looked like a completely different team from Friday night's 6-3 flush performance.
The third period would open with the Jets fired up and ready to get on the board with the newly acquired Joe Beaudette (Blaine, MN) from the Indiana Ice. Beaudette took a 2 on 1 break the other way and put it over the left shoulder of Ranger goaltender Matt Brooker (Richmond, VA) making 4-1. The Jets would replace Okland with Joe Dawson (Minneapolis, MN) to start the period. It would be too late as Brooker got the win and moved to 7-1-0 on the season.
On the night the Jet's were out shot 39-32 and went (1-4) on the man advantage but couldn't solve Brooker in net and Jets finish 2-2 against the Rangers. The Jets host North Iowa on November 16 at 7:35pm at the Coliseum.
