Last night, June 20, the Blues were able to break the two game losing skid they had encountered and were able to come away with the win at Doyle Field as the Blues beat the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs by a score of 7-5.
The Blues were led offensively by Stephen Octave (Franklin Pierce) as the catcher was able to go three for four with two RBI's and two runs scored. Adding to the scoring was Tyler Packanik (Marietta), Austin Chauvin (St.Mary's), and Jamie Timothy (Roger Williams). Timothy hit the only homerun of the game for the Blues.
Blues starting pitcher Tim Cate (UCONN) was able to go five innings allowing only three hits and one earned run while striking out five to earn the win with Blues pitcher Ty Robinson earning the save going two and a third innings and allowing only two runs. Dirt Dawgs pitcher Steve Collela was given the loss at the end of the night.
The Bristol Blues return to action tonight, June 21, as they head to Wahconah Park to take on the Pittsfield Suns with first pitch scheduled for 4pm.
