
Bluefish hold off Ducks, 10-8

Bridgeport, CTâ The Bridgeport Bluefish held off the Long Island Ducks, 10-8, in front of 3,642 fans at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
The Ducks tagged on their first run in the top of the first as Cole Liniak scored from third as Patrick Lennon flied out to left field. The Bluefish quickly overcame the deficit in the bottom of the inning as Gustavo Escobar scored on a Willis Otanez single to center field and Jose Amado also scored on a single to left field by Keith Lu'uloa.
After a tandem of hits and an untimely error, the Ducks tied the game in the third inning but not for long. The Bluefish offense answered back with seven runs on seven hits to take the lead 9-2. Coming up big for the Bluefish were left fielder, Willis Otanez, who was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored, and Keith Lu'uloa who also had three hits, and three RBI in five at bats.
The Ducks rallied in the top of the fourth and seventh innings to score five additional runs and get within two, before falling to the âFish 10-8.
Bluefish starter Luis Arroyo went five innings while giving up five runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking one. Reliever Phil Rosengren came in to pitch the sixth and seventh innings for the âFish, before being relieved by Ryan Schurman who stayed in the game for the eighth inning as well.
Bridgeport will wrap up their three game series against the Long Island Ducks on Thursday with a 7:05 p.m. start at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
