Riversharks edge Pride, 2-0

(Nashua, NH) - The Camden Riversharks defeated the Nashua Pride on Wednesday afternoon, 2-0, in front of 1,323 fans at Historic Holman Stadium.

For the second game in a row, runs came at a premium. The Riversharks scored the only two runs of the game in the second inning when Travis Anderson singled and Troy Cameron hit his sixteenth homerun of the season to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

Nashua had a chance to score in the fourth inning. Carlos Rodriguez and Bo Robinson had back to back infield singles. Brad King walked to load the bases. The Pride failed to score as Edgar Tovar flew out to centerfield to end the inning. With his single, Robinson extended his hitting streak to eleven games.

The Pride were presented with an identical situation in the ninth inning, but Tovar grounded into a double play to end the game.

Pride starter Brad Guy lasted six innings, giving up just the runs on the homerun by Cameron on eight hits. He took the loss for Nashua, dropping his record to 8-9 on the season. Starter Brett Laxton earned the win for the Riversharks with seven innings of shutout baseball.

The Pride and Riversharks finish up their three game series on Thursday evening. Nashua sends lefty Brian Looney (2-2, 3.86) to the mound versus Camden right-hander Lincoln Mikkelsen (7-3, 2.82). Game time is 6:35 PM.
