Bluefish Fall To Riversharks In Series Finale

(Bridgeport, Conn. - May 17, 2015) - The Bridgeport Bluefish (13-9) struggled defensively all afternoon, committing three errors, as they were defeated by the Camden Riversharks (12-12) 5-2 at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Sunday in the conclusion of a four-game weekend series. Camden outhit the 'Fish twelve to seven.

Starting Pitcher Mike Antonini was credited with the no-decision after going six innings, allowing seven hits and two runs (one earned run), walking only one while striking out ten. Erik Draxton (2-1) was tagged with the defeat out of the bullpen, pitching two innings, giving up four hits and three runs (no earned runs).

Bridgeport tied the game up at two in the bottom half of the third inning on a two-out, two-run double by Welington Dotel, scoring Ildemaro Vargas and Nick Van Stratten. Van Stratten reached base earlier in the inning on a single, extending his on-base streak to a season-high nineteen consecutive games overall. The Riversharks regained the lead in the top half of the seventh with two outs, when Mike Costanzo blasted a three-run home-run over the wall in right, and Camden had their second lead of the day, 5-2, and never looked back. Starting Pitcher Ryan Kulik (3-1) earned the victory, going six innings, allowing six hits and two runs, walking one and striking out three. Matt Gorgen pitched a scoreless ninth for the Riversharks, notching his league-best sixth save of the season. Dotel led the way for the Bluefish with three hits.
