
Bluefish Drop Third Straight to Riversharks

(Bridgeport, CT) - The Bridgeport Bluefish (19-42) were defeated by the Camden Riversharks (23-39), 7-2 on Saturday night at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
Bridgeport scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI triple by J.R. Towles, which scored Ramon Castro. Camden scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning, with the big hit coming on a two RBI double by Bryant Nelson. The Bluefish added a run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a Sacrifice Fly by Prentice Redman, which scored Juan Martinez. The Riversharks then added two more runs in the top of the ninth inning.
Bridgeport starter Hunter Jones (3-6) suffered the loss going seven innings allowing five runs (one earned), four hits, and two walks with four strikeouts. Camden starter Zachary Clark (1-1) picked up the win going five innings allowing one run, three hits, and no walks with four strikeouts.
For the Bluefish, Martinez went 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Towles went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple and a walk.
Bridgeport and Camden will play the final game of their four game series tomorrow afternoon with the first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. It's Sunday Funday, presented by CHET 529 College Savings Program. All fans will be treated to a pre-game catch and autograph session on the field starting at 12:10 p.m. and following the contest, all kids will be able to run the bases like their favorite Bluefish players. It's also Stratford Community Day and Jewish Heritage Day at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.
