Bluefish drop finale, head to playoffs

In their last regular season game, despite out-hitting the Patriots two-fold, The Bridgeport Bluefish were defeated by the Somerset 2-1 and shifted focus to Game One of the Divisional Playoff Series against the Long Island Ducks. The Fish will play one game at the Ballpark at Harbor yard on Tuesday the 26th, and then travel to Long Island for games two and three (if necessary).

The Patriots struck early getting a run in on a wild pitch from Eddy Ramos in the top of the first inning.

In the third inning Jamie Pogue ripped a solo blast, his sixth of the year, to tie the game at one a piece.

In the bottom of the fourth inning Willis Otanez stroked a single, hitting safely in his 17th straight game which tied Steve Hine's 2006 season hitting streak record.

Elliot Ayala doubled to lead off the sixth inning and then scored on a Kevin Nicholson double, Nicholson was thrown out at third, trying to stretch the hit to a triple. Tony Mota had the assist on the play.

The Bluefish got two runners on in the bottom of the ninth inning but could not produce the tying run.
