Bluefins Fall To Outlaws 5-2
November 15, 2012 - Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL)
New York Bluefins News Release
The Cape Cod Bluefins lost 5-2 tonight to the Williamsport Outlaws at Bowman Field. The Bluefins were looking for a strong start to a five-game road trip, but they were unable to find the combination of offensive power and strong team defense that led them to a 6-3 defeat of the Outlaws two weeks ago at home.
Instead, the Outlaws found the back of the net five times, and the Bluefins, despite coming to within one goal twice, never took control. Matt Smyth tallied twice for the Outlaws while Trevor Karasiewicz contributed a goal and assist. The Bluefins got goals from Kevin McCready in the second period and from Chris Campanale in the third period. Tyler Larsen and Brian Yanovitch each had an assist. In net, Scott Barchard stopped 46 of 51 shots for the Bluefins to take the loss.
The Bluefins will now travel to first-place Dayton for two games Friday and Saturday at Hara Arena. Cape Cod returns to home ice to face Danville next weekend, Saturday in Martha's Vineyard and Sunday at the Falmouth Ice Arena. For tickets, please call 508-280-7969.
