Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
The Lakewood BlueClaws will once again welcome the Philadelphia Phillies to the Jersey Shore for the annual Winter Tour Banquet. The parent club of the BlueClaws will be visiting Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood Thursday, January 19 from 6-8 p.m. Infielder Chase Utley (pictured) and three other players are expected to attend. Also manager Charlie Manuel and new General Manager Pat Gillick will be on hand that evening.
Tickets are going fast and space is limited, so fans are encouraged to reserve their tickets as soon as possible. The $35.00 admission includes a cocktail hour, dinner, raffles, prizes, a silent auction, Q & A session and a 30-minute autograph session at the end of the event. Huppert to lead BlueClaws 2006 staff announced The BlueClaws, single-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, announce that Dave Huppert will manage the 2006 club. Also joining the staff will be pitching coach Steve Schrenk and hitting coach Ken Dominguez. Huppert is perhaps best known in the baseball circle for catching 31 of 33 innings in the longest game played in professional baseball history for the Rochester Red Wings in 1981. The game with Pawtucket lasted a total of 8 hours 25 minutes.
