Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Lakewood BlueClaws will host the Fourth Annual Coaches Clinic, February 4 at FirstEnergy Park. Hitting, fielding, pitching, base running and injury prevention will be emphasized by this year's class of instructors.
The clinic is designed for all area baseball coaches, from Little League to high school levels, and will include instruction in hitting, pitching, fielding, base running and injury prevention and treatment.
Local product and former MLB pitcher Mark Leiter of Toms River will be joined by Yankees Double-A hitting coach Ty Hawkins from Manasquan and 2005 BlueClaws infielder Mike Dzurilla. The trio will lead individual sessions on the fundamentals of the game and be able to take questions.
This interactive event will take place in the batting cages, luxury suite level and clubhouse of FirstEnergy Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be limited to the first 200 coaches to register. Last years event did sell out.
For those who attended last year's event, the 2006 clinic will include new content from our instructors.
Registration is only $35.00 and will include breakfast, lunch, a T-shirt and a BlueClaws gift bag. All participants must be pre-registered. The registration form may be picked up at FirstEnergy Park or on the BlueClaws website at www.blueclaws.com.
Interested individuals can contact Keri Conway at 732-901-7000 ext. 192 or via email: kconway@blueclaws.com.
Full season and partial plan tickets for the 2006 BlueClaws season are on sale now, including the BlueClaws May 15 game at Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia. The BlueClaws drew 444,607 during their Fifth Anniversary season and welcomed the team's 2-millionth fan, doing so faster than any other South Atlantic League and New Jersey professional baseball team. Lakewood will open the home 2006 season April 13 against Delmarva at 6:35 p.m. For tickets or more information call 732-901-7000 or visit the BlueClaws website at www.blueclaws.com.
