
BlueClaws, Power Split Monday Pair

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws and Power split a double-header on Monday at FirstEnergy Park at FirstEnergy Park.
The BlueClaws earned the win in game one 5-2 behind David Parkinson (3-1), who gave up two runs in five innings to earn the victory.
Each team scored in the first inning with the BlueClaws getting an RBI single from Nick Maton for a 1-0 lead. Kevin Markham singled in a run in the second inning for a 2-1 BlueClaws lead off starter Travis MacGregor.
After the Power tied it on a Deon Stafford home run, Dalton Guthrie put the BlueClaws back ahead with solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. It was Guthrie's second home run of the season.
Addison Russ got the last six outs for his sixth save - Russ has either earned a save (six) or a win (four) in 10 of Lakewood's wins so far this year.
Dalton Guthrie had three hits while Jake Scheiner, Daniel Brito, and Kevin Markham each had two.
In game two, Rodolfo Castro hit a solo home run in the seventh off Kyle Dohy (1-3) to give West Virginia a 2-1 win over the BlueClaws.
Castro's home run was his fourth of the year. Blake Cederlind (3-2) got the last six outs to earn the win.
The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the second game on a Kevin Markham solo home run in the fourth inning. The Power answered in the fifth on Raul Hernandez's RBI double to level the game at one apiece.
Jake Scheiner and Quincy Nieporte each had two hits.
The BlueClaws fall to 20-17 while the Power improved to 22-14 on the year.
The BlueClaws and Power finish their four-game series on Tuesday night at 6:35 pm. LHP Will Stewart (4-0) starts for Lakewood opposite LHP Domingo Robles (2-3).
