
BlueClaws Exhibition Opener Rained Out

LAKEWOOD, NJ â The Lakewood BlueClaws were unable to participate in their first scheduled exhibition game of the 2004 season Tuesday due to rain in Clearwater, Florida. The team had been slated to play the Charleston (WV) Alley Cats, the South Atlantic League affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.
The team is scheduled to take the field on Wednesday against the Charleston (SC) River Dogs, the South Atlantic League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
The BlueClaws begin their fourth season April 8, at Kannapolis, and play their home opener April 12, against the Charleston (WV) Alley Cats at 6:35 p.m. The BlueClaws are the fastest professional baseball team in New Jersey and South Atlantic League history to draw one MILLION people.
