BlueClaws, Brookdale to Play Free Exhibition Game

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws will officially open the season on Thursday, April 9th, but fans will get a chance to see the team for the first time on Monday, April 6th when the BlueClaws play Brookdale Community College in an exhibition game at FirstEnergy Park.

Admission to the exhibition game is free and seating is general admission. Gates will open at 6:00 pm and first pitch is at 6:35 pm. Concession stands will be open.

"This will be a great unofficial start to the season," said BlueClaws COO Adam Lorber. "We look forward to a fun night before the games start to count for real."

Shawn Williams, who managed Williamsport in 2014, takes over as BlueClaws manager this year. The BlueClaws Opening Day roster will be announced at a later date.

John "The Count" Montefusco and Denny Walling are two of the former Brookdale baseball players that went on to play in the big leagues.

The BlueClaws open the season on Thursday, April 9th, their 15th season of providing family fun and affordable family entertainment at the Jersey Shore. Opening Day, presented by Jenkinson's Boardwalk, is a FanDuel Thirsty Thursday, with dollar beer and soda plus 50-cent wings. The first 1,500 fans will receive an Opening Day commemorative ticket.

Friday, April 10th and Saturday, April 11th are Asbury Park Press Dollar Days with $1 tickets. Firweorks follow the game on Friday, April 10th thanks to River Rock Restaurant and Marina Bar.
