Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Lakewood BlueClaws will be heard loud and clear across greater Ocean and Monmouth County this season. The BlueClaws and Millennium Radio stations,
1160 WOBM-AM and WADB 1310 will be the broadcast home for all 140 BlueClaws regular season games in addition to any potential playoff games.
The new partnership will bring the BlueClaws back to 1160 WOBM-AM and keep the club on the air with WADB through the 2009 season. Under the Millennium Radio "Shore Sports Network" umbrella, the BlueClaws join a long standing tradition of providing quality coverage of local sports.
"Being part of the Shore Sports Network provides incredible exposure for our team and allows fans to listen to the game while they're at the park," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "We're extremely grateful our partnership with Millennium Radio and look forward to continuing this relationship for years to come."
Each broadcast will include an informative pre-game show and a post-game show featuring highlights, scoreboards and more, in addition to the actual game.
In his second full season with the BlueClaws, Ben Wagner will anchor the broadcasts. Rich Lidstrom will join Wagner in the booth for each home game and host the pre and post game show for all 140 games during the season.
"Millennium Radio Group looks forward to continuing the excellent working relationship we share with the BlueClaws," said Bill Saurer, Vice President/General Manager Millennium Radio New Jersey Shore Group. "Our mutual resources have resulted in a very productive partnership."
Millennium Radio Group owns a total of 12 New Jersey stations, including WOBM-FM, 94.3 The Point and 105.7 The Hawk.
This season the Lakewood BlueClaws will begin play April 6 at 7:05 p.m. against the Lexington Legends.
Full season and partial plan tickets for the 2006 BlueClaws season are on sale now, including the BlueClaws May 15 game at Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia. The BlueClaws drew 444,607 fans during their Fifth Anniversary season and welcomed the team's 2-millionth fan, doing so faster than any other South Atlantic League and New Jersey professional baseball team. Lakewood will open the home 2006 season April 13 against Delmarva at 6:35 p.m. For tickets or more information call 732-901-7000 or visit the BlueClaws' website at www.blueclaws.com.
