LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws will partner with the Ocean Running Club, Jersey Shore Running Club, and the Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts of America for their 2010 5K Race and One Mile Kids Fun Run to be held April 18th at FirstEnergy Park.

The Fun Run begins at 10 am and the 5K will follow at 10:30. Both races will end right on the field. Further, all participants will receive a ticket to that day's BlueClaws game (1:05 pm) and a BlueClaws 5K t-shirt.

"This year's 5K is going to truly be an event," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "For runners, the chance to race on our field plus get a free ticket to a BlueClaws game is special, and we have three great partners to work with. We're really looking forward to the event."

Runners can register by calling Charles Keller at 732-901-7000 ext 117. Registration is $20 for the 5K and $10 for the Kids Fun Run through April 12th and $25 and $15 after April 12th.

Members of the Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts of America will race in the event as part of the first step in the scouts' Physically Fit Program.

"Being in strong physical condition is a very important part of scouting," said Craig Shelley, Executive Director of JSCBSA. "This is an important step for our scouts and we're looking forward to the partnership with the BlueClaws."

The 2010 season will mark the BlueClaws tenth season of play, and the team will have a new logo and uniforms for the first time in team history.

The BlueClaws won their second South Atlantic League title in 2009, and led the league in attendance for the ninth straight year. The team also won the league''s Club Merit Award and became the fastest in New Jersey and SAL history to reach 4-million fans.
