
Blue Wahoos Take Down Smokies in Game Two

Pensacola, FL- For the second consecutive night, the Smokies drew first blood. After a walk and a double, Smokies first baseman Haydn McGeary hit an RBI groundout to the shortstop, making it 1-0 Tennessee.
In the bottom of the second, Tennessee catcher Pablo Aliendo threw the ball into left field when Victor Mesa attempted to steal third base. Mesa scored when the ball skipped into left field, tying the game up at 1 after two innings. In the bottom of the third, Pensacola took the lead when Griffin Conine led off the inning with a double, followed by a Nasim Nunez single to take a 2-1 lead.
The Blue Wahoos put up a crooked number in the fourth when catcher Will Banfield singled to score Jose Devers, followed by a 2-run home run off the bat of Cody Morissette to extend the Blue Wahoos lead to 5-1.
The Blue Wahoos added another crooked number in the sixth inning with a Griffin Conine sacrifice fly to score Banfield, making it 6-1. Later in the inning, Pensacola first baseman Troy Johnston singled through the right side to score J.D. Orr, extending the lead to 7-1 after six innings of play.
The Smokies didn't give up in the ninth inning when BJ Murray hit a high drive off the top of the right field wall scoring Luis Vazquez and Chase Strumpf to score two on the second triple of the season by BJ Murray. The next batter Haydn McGeary knocked in Murray to make the score 7-4. The Smokies late rally ended on the next pitch when Nelson Maldonado grounded out to close out the game. The Blue Wahoos won their tenth consecutive game of the season in a 7-4 victory in game two.
