Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release
Wilmington, DE - The Wilmington Blue Rocks are offering complimentary tickets for local "Heroes in Uniform" and their families, for the team's playoff opener on Friday, September 11. The Blue Rocks, who begin the Northern Division Championship Series in Lynchburg on Wednesday night, will take on the Hillcats at Frawley Stadium for Game Three on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
All Police, Fire, EMT, and Military personnel will receive four (4) free tickets to the Blue Rocks game on Friday, September 11, by showing the appropriate identification at the Frawley Stadium Box Office. The offer will also be accepted by phone by calling (302) 888-BLUE (2583) and mentioning "Heroes in Uniform."
The Blue Rocks plan to honor local Firemen, Policemen, EMT, and Military Personnel before the game, which is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The purpose of the ceremony, and the night, is to not only remember the brave heroes we lost eight years ago, but to recognize those who protect us as part of their daily lives and professions. The Blue Rocks encourage fans to wear patriotic gear to Friday's game.
"Baseball is America's past-time, so it makes sense for us to come together on this historic date and show our support for those who keep our city, our state, and our country safe," said Wilmington General Manager, Chris Kemple.
The NDCS is a best of five series, so the Blue Rocks could potentially clinch a Carolina League Championship berth with a win on Friday. Frawley Stadium would also play host to a Game Four on Saturday, if necessary. The series would return to Lynchburg for a potential Game Five is needed.
To purchase tickets, call 302-888-BLUE (2583) or log on to www.BLUEROCKS.com.
