
Blue Jays Claim RHP Todd Redmond, Assign to Bisons

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have claimed RHP TODD REDMOND off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles and optioned him to the Bisons
Redmond, 27, split the 2012 season between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds organizations, making 18 starts with the Gwinnett Braves before appearing in eight games (seven starts) for the Louisville Bats. Combined, the righty was 8-11 with a 3.63ERA. His 136 total strikeouts were third most in the International League.
Redmond has amassed over 100 strikeouts in each of the last four seasons in the International League and has ranked in the Top 5 in each of the past year three years in the circuit. He struck out 142 batters in back-to-back seasons with the Gwinnett Braves, 2010-2011.
