Blue Jackets Sign Forward Nick Drazenovic to One-Year, Two-Way NHL-AHL Contract

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Nick Drazenovic to a one-year, two-way NHL-American Hockey League contract, club Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Drazenovic (pronounced DRUH-zehn-oh-vihk), 25, registered 13 goals and 28 assists for 41 points, had 16 penalty minutes and was +1 in 41 games with the Springfield Falcons, Columbus' AHL affiliate in 2011-12. He ranked third on the club in assists, fourth in points and fifth in power play goals (five). He has collected 86-161-247 and 192 penalty minutes in 307 career AHL games.

St. Louis' sixth pick, 171st overall, in the 2005 Entry Draft, Drazenovic spent four seasons in the Blues organization from 2007-11, making his NHL debut against the Nashville Predators on November 11, 2010. He is scoreless in three career NHL games. A native of Prince George, British Columbia, he played four seasons with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League from 2003-07. He collected 70-90-160, 145 penalty minutes and was +3 in 278 career WHL games.
