
Blue Jackets Re-Sign Four Players

Syracuse, NY (July 10, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed left wing Curtis Glencross, left wing Joakim Lindstrom, center Andrew Murray and right wing Steve Goertzen to two-way National Hockey League - American Hockey League contracts. Glencross, Lindstrom and Murray inked one-year deals, while Goertzen was signed to a two-year contract. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Glencross, 24, appeared in 60 games with Syracuse and Portland last season, recording 25 goals, 26 assists and 127 penalty minutes. He racked up 35 points (19g, 16a) and 53 penalty minutes in just 29 games with the Crunch. He tallied one goal and four penalty minutes in nine NHL games last season and was scoreless in seven outings with the Blue Jackets after joining the club from the Anaheim Ducks in January. The Kindersley, Saskatchewan native has registered 48 goals, 40 assists and 281 penalty minutes in 159 career AHL games after playing two seasons of college hockey at Alaska-Anchorage from 2002-04.
Lindstrom, 23, was Columbus' second pick, 41st overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft. He also tallied an AHL career-high 22 goals, 26 assists, 48 points with 34 penalty minutes and a +8 plus/minus rating in 50 games with Syracuse last season. He has tallied one goal and four penalty minutes in 12 career NHL games. He appeared in nine games with the Blue Jackets in 2006-07 and registered his first NHL goal at Minnesota on December 29. He has registered 99 points (40g, 59a) and 86 penalty minutes in 127 games in two-plus AHL seasons after playing for Modo in the Swedish Elite League from 2000-05.
Murray, 25, was the Blue Jackets' 11th pick, 242nd overall, in the 2001 Entry Draft. He has spent the past two seasons with Syracuse where he has collected 51 points (23g, 28a) and 135 penalty minutes in 149 games. He tallied 10 goals, 12 assists and 62 penalty minutes in 72 outings a year ago. A native of Selkirk, Manitoba, he registered 115 points (46g, 69a) and 131 penalty minutes in 128 games during four seasons at Bemidji State University from 2001-05.
Goertzen, 23, was Columbus' 11th pick, 225th overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft and has picked up 54 penalty minutes in 46 games with the Blue Jackets over the past two seasons. He was scoreless in seven games with Columbus and notched 16 points (9g, 7a) and 120 penalty minutes in 60 games with the Crunch a year ago. Prior to joining the professional ranks, he registered 79 points (33g, 46a) and 254 penalty minutes in 206 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League from 2001-04.
