Brevard Blue Ducks News Release

Melbourne – Basketball players aren't the only individuals the Brevard Blue Ducks are looking for this season.

The Blue Chicks dance squad, who perform at all Blue Ducks home games as well as many community events are looking for more dancers.

They will be holding a workshop and audition Saturday, February 22nd at 10:00AM at the Extreme Cheerleading Center in Melbourne. Mandy Field, owner of the center will be serving as the Blue Chicks choreographer this year and will host the workshop.

"We held a workshop and tryout this past weekend and found some really wonderful dancers," said Mike Richman, Blue Ducks owner. "But we need more."

"I'd like to add another 8 or 9 dancers to the squad," commented Blue Chicks head dancer, Rhonda Fontaine. "So it's wide open. We feel we can fill out the squad with the next audition."

An accomplished beauty pageant contestant - holding the title of Mrs. Melbourne and scheduled to compete in this year's Mrs. Florida pageant, Fontaine adds, "We are looking for dancers with a presence. Women who you'd just look at and say, she must be a dancer."

A lot of people will be able to say that, as the Blue Chicks routinely perform in front of crowds of several thousand. Cost for the workshop is $25. Registration is at 9:30 AM. Auditions will be held immediately after.

To reserve your spot in the workshop and audition, contact Rhonda Fontaine at (321) 508-7311 or email her at rhonda@web-classified.com. For more information, log onto the Blue Ducks website at www.BrevardBlueDucks.com.
