WINNIPEG, MB., January 22, 2014 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced today the re-signing of Canadian fullback Michel-Pierre Pontbriand. As per team policy, details of the agreement are not disclosed.

Pontbriand was scheduled to become a free agent in February, after spending the past three seasons with the Blue Bombers. Throughout those three seasons, he has been a steadfast blocker on offence and a solid special teams player. He's recorded six receptions for 114 yards, and 18 special teams tackles (10 in 2012, eight in 2013).

"Michel-Pierre is a great asset for us as a Canadian player, who understands our league, is a great teammate and locker room guy, and a player who works extremely hard every day," said General Manager Kyle Walters.
