
Blue Bombers Bring Back Receiver Damian Sherman

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed import receiver Damian Sherman to the practice roster. Sherman attended training camp with the Blue Bombers but was released after suffering an injury.
Sherman (6-4, 213, Southern Illinois, DOB: June 13, 1986 in Fort Pierce, Florida) transferred to Southern Illinois from Morrisville State Junior College in 2006. After redshirting his first year, Sherman started 16 games over two seasons and finished with 38 receptions for 573 yards and five touchdowns. He was also an elite track athlete and was ranked first in the nation in the National Junior College Athletic Association in the 200-metre event with a time of 21.80. Sherman attended minicamp with the Detroit Lions in 2009.
