March 27, 2019 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Lexington County Blowfish News Release

A beautiful spring day welcomed the largest monthly luncheon crowd ever to Lexington County Baseball Stadium on Wednesday. Lexington County Blowfish co-owner Bill Shanahan was joined by Nancy Smith, the General Manager of the South Carolina State Fair. Together, they announced the partnership between the Blowfish and the State Fair for the 2019 season at the luncheon presented by Carolina Comfort Heating and Air.

"For me, I want to be in the "Relationship Building" business," Smith told the standing room only audience. "In 1974, I was a part of the first Lexington High School class to graduate on this field. And so, I'm excited for our relationship with Bill and the Blowfish to continue growing as we celebrate 150 years of the South Carolina State Fair!"

The luncheon was also the site for the official unveiling of the 2019 "Fair Themed" player jerseys. These jerseys pay homage to the 150th anniversary of the South Carolina State Fair, and will also be auctioned off to the public after the season finale. Proceeds from that auction will go to the South Carolina State Fair Scholarship Program; specifically it will go to a student from Lexington County!

The Blowfish once again partnered with Skye Design Studios (www.sdsbranding.com) to develop the Fair Themed design. SDS is a brand identity and design firm based in the greater New York area with a satellite location in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. They also created the identity for the Lexington County Pancakes.

"We want to continue to promote learning through literacy and fun at the ballpark with every young person in Lexington County," Bacot said. "A big thanks to this year's sponsors - Comporium, Dave & Busters and Lexington County Farm Bureau of South Carolina."

"The Blowfish always look to get involved with the local community and high schools," Bacot stated.
