Blowfish Announce Exhibition Game with Columbia Police & Firefighters

Columbia, SC- Th e Blowfish Baseball Club announced today the revival of a great tradition in Columbia sports history! The Columbia Police will take on the Columbia Firefighters in an exhibition softball game Saturday June 28thas part of a Triple Header of Fun! -- presented in part by US Foods.

In addition, the Blowfish organization are providing complimentary tickets to the Columbia Police and Fire and their families for this evening of family fun & entertainment. "We thought this was a great way for our community to say thanks to all the men and women who serve this great city!" said Bill Shanahan owner of the Blowfish.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook, and Columbia Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins, were on hand for the official announcement and both shared their enthusiasm for the Blowfish helping to bring this tradition back to the ballpark.

The gates will open early at 5pm with the softball game beginning at 5:35pm. Another great tradition is that Saturdays are "Play Catch with the Blowfish Players" and this day the Columbia Police and Firefighter softball players will also be joining the Blowfish players to play catch with the kids. Play Catch will be from 6:40pm till 7pm with the Blowish getting underway at 7:05pm. This exciting evening will close with a spectacular Fireworks Show produced by Munnerlyn Pyrotechnics.
