Bloomington Blaze Sign Jon Booras & Brodie Sheahan

The Bloomington Blaze has added to their pre-season roster with the addition of forwards Jon Booras and Brodie Sheahan.

Twenty-eight year old Jon Booras returns for his sixth year in Bloomington. The Billings, Montana native has scored 128 goals and 198 assists for 326 points in 345 games while playing in Bloomington. The 5'-11", 180 lbs forward played college hockey at Lake Superior State University before starting his professional career in 2005-06 with the UHL's Muskegon Fury. In addition to playing in Bloomington, Jon has also made brief appearances with the AHL Iowa Stars and Peoria Rivermen. Last season in 58 games, Jon scored 20 goals and added 29 assists for 49 points. He also led Bloomington in power play goals with eight.

Brodie Sheahan begins his second professional season after playing in 29 games for Bloomington during the 2010-11 hockey season. The 5'-11", 170 lbs forward from Lethbridge, Alberta tallied 7 goals and 18 assists for 25 points last year. Sheahan, 25, played four years of college hockey at Holy Cross College where he scored 91 points in 130 games before joining Bloomington last season.

Bloomington Blaze Head Coach Jason Christie said, "Both Jon and Brodie are valuable offensive weapons that we're happy to have in a Blaze uniform for the coming season."

The new Bloomington Blaze will be playing in the fourteen team Central Hockey League beginning in October, 2011. Bloomington will be in the league's Turner (Northern) Conference along with the Fort Wayne Komets, Dayton Gems, Quad City Mallards, Missouri Mavericks, Rapid City Rush, and Evansville IceMen.
