Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Kimmie Carson, a hard-hitting linebacker who played at NCAA Division I University of New Mexico, has signed with the Green Bay Blizzard.
Carson, 6'1" and 225 pounds, played in 41 games and made 188 tackles (110 solo) at New Mexico. He held up well against Power 5 teams such as Arizona and Arizona State. Carson also played well against highly regarded non-P5 Division I programs such as Air Force and Boise State.
In his redshirt sophomore and junior seasons, Carson had a combined 124 tackles, including 15.5 for loss. Early in his senior year, he left football to concentrate on being a father to his two young children and focusing on his education.
For his collegiate career, Carson finished with 20.5 tackles for loss.
"Kimmie is an aggressive, intuitive linebacker who knows where the ball is and certainly knows how to tackle," said Roberson. "The fact that 110 of his 188 tackles were solo stops shows he often gets there first."
