Blizzard Ranked Fifth in Coaches Poll

May 15, 2008 - arenafootball2 (af2) - Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Going into Week 8 of the season, the Blizzard is ranked fifth in the af2 Coaches Poll. The Blizzard (5-2) have run off three consecutive wins, including last week's thrilling 37-36 road victory at Peoria and an impressive home win against rival Quad City Steamwheelers 52-35.

The first place Blizzard will take on the second place Lexington Horsemen in a Midwest Division game at U.S. Cellular Field at the Resch Center Friday, May 16th. Not only is the Blizzard looking to remain perfect in the Midwest Division, but will also look to increase their home winning record to 15-1 in the last 16 games. The team attributes this record at the Resch to their "Ninth Man."

"As far as the fans are concerned, I have never had a fan-base in my 15 years of coaching in Arena Football as vocal and supportive of a team as Blizzard fans," quoted Blizzard Assistant Head Coach Mark Stoute. "It has definitely contributed to more wins on the field. The fans truly are our Ninth Man."

The game Friday night features the ever-popular "Budweiser Buck Night." Beer, soda and hot dogs are ONLY $1. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by contacting Ticketstar at 800-895-0071 or by going to the Resch Center Box Office. Blizzard Football - "Affordable Family Fun."
