Blizzard Earn First Road Win in San Diego
The Green Bay Blizzard defense turned the game around in the last 2 minutes of the first half with interceptions returned for touchdowns on consecutive plays by the San Diego Strike Force which led to a Blizzard win by the score of 53 to 45.

Both teams traded touchdowns for most of the first half as the Blizzard took a 41 to 35 lead into the locker room at half time. Kicker Cody Barber connected on a 40-yard field goal in the third quarter for the only points scored by either team. In the fourth quarter, each team scored a touchdown and a field goal with Barber making a 27 yarder to seal the game with less then one minute to play.
The game was plagued by penalties as both teams combined for 170 penalty yards. This included 2 penalties on the Blizzard kick return team on 2 BJ Hill returns for touchdowns.
Blizzard QB Lenorris Footman completed 9 of 18 passes in the game for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns. Levi Copelin and BJ Hill each caught one TD pass. Footman also ran 9 times for 43 yards and one touchdown and one 2-point conversion. Running back Rameses Owens rushed for 60 yards on 12 carries and 2 touchdowns. His long run was for 24 yards and a TD in the first quarter.
Strike Force quarterback Derrick Bernard was 18 of 34 passing for 201 yards and 4 touchdowns. However, the Blizzard intercepted 3 of those passes. Bernard ran 10 times for only 7 total yards as the Blizzard defense had him on the run for much of the game.
The Green Bay defense was led by linebacker Dayshawn Taylor with 10 total tackles but the star of the game was defensive back Bakari Triggs who had 2 of the 3 Bernard interceptions and one of the 2 pick six's. Joe Powell had the other pick 6. The Blizzard also sacked Bernard 4 times.
The San Diego defense was led by defensive back Omar Cook who had 6 tackles and broke up 4 passes.
Green Bay evens their record at 2 and 2 while San Diego drops to 0 and 4. The Blizzard travel to Moline Illinois on Friday night to play the Quad City Steamwheelers (2-2) while the Strike Force are in Tucson Arizona to play the Sugar Skulls (2-1) on Sunday evening.
