Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Green Bay, WI (June 23, 2015) - The Indoor Football League has announced that Blizzard defensive back Jamie Bender has been named the Defensive Player of the Week after his outstanding performance Saturday night in Iowa.
Bender displayed one of the finest defensive efforts in the IFL this season. Bender capped his impressive rookie season with three pass interceptions against Iowa. His three interceptions tied him with Billings defensive back Michael Green as the only players in the IFL to intercept three passes in one game this season.
The game-changing defensive back finished the night with four tackles, a half tackle for loss, one forced fumble, three interceptions and one touchdown. Bender finishes the season leading the league with eight interceptions. This is Bender's second IFL Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
