
Blizzard Blow Out Horsemen, Advance to Second Round

Green Bay Blizzard News Release
With a franchise-record 10 sacks and a loud and enthusiastic "9th Man," the Green Bay Blizzard defeated the Lexington Horsemen 65-37 in a first round playoff game.
The Blizzard came out striking in the first quarter scoring on a Scott Burnoski 37-yard touchdown catch from Gino Guidugli. The team would follow that up with a safety and a Bob Forstrom field goal to go up 12-0. Lexington would answer with an Eddie Eviston 4-yard touchdown run.
In the second quarter the Blizzard wasted no time getting back on the scoreboard with a Robert Garth 4-yard touchdown catch from Guidugli. After a 49-yard Doug Daniel field goal, Steve Gonzalez took the ensuing kickoff 57 yards for a touchdown. Blizzard wide receiver Antoine Burns would also add two touchdown catches for 38 and 17 yards. The Blizzard led 39-24 at the half.
The third quarter saw the Blizzard defense stand strong allowing only 7 points, while the offense extended their lead with a 1-yard Tyre Young touchdown run and Burns' third touchdown catch of the night.
The Schutt Offensive Player of the Game, Gino Guidugli, not only threw for 5 touchdowns, but recorded the first score of the fourth quarter with a 5-yard run to put the Blizzard up 59-31. Lexington would add their last score of the night on a John Cooper touchdown catch. Rod Olds scampered in from 9 yards to cap off the 65-37 Blizzard victory.
