Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard held a press conference to announce a number of changes in the organization, including the signing of a new Head Coach (pending approval from the af2 office), reorganization of the Front Office, and former Head Coach Brian Noble's new role.
Noble addressed a group of local media, first explaining his decision to step down as Head Coach of the Blizzard after only one season. "Coaching has become very difficult, from a physical standpoint," Noble said. "The problems I've had with my knees and back made standing for extended periods during games and running around at practice every day very difficult. I believe in this organization and this team, and I wanted to be a part of it, so a move into upper management was the obvious choice."
Noble then announced that Offensive Coordinator Rod Miller would also serve as Team Development Coordinator, Brent Engen would be returning as Sales Manager, and that Elvis Ahlborn had taken over as Director of Operations.
Finally, Noble introduced the new Head Coach of the Blizzard, Bob Landsee, who took the podium to a round of applause. "It's good to be back in familiar surroundings," said Landsee, a native of Iron Mountain, Michigan, and graduate of the University of Wisconsin. "A winning team starts from the top and flows down. I'm excited about working with Brian and everyone in the Blizzard organization: Rod, Brent, Elvis. I see us doing a lot of great things on and off the field."
Landsee then fielded questions from the press, including his reasons for coaching Arena Football as opposed to the NFL, the league he played in for 4 years as an offensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles. "The time commitment required by the NFL is just too much," he said. "I signed a contract with my daughter [saying that] I could only coach in the state of Wisconsin. It's going to be good to be able to coach so close to home."
