Blizzard Announce Cedric Walker as Defensive Coordinator

The Green Bay Blizzard announced today that Cedric Walker will join the coaching staff, in 2009, as the Defensive Coordinator.

Coach Walker brings a great amount of Arena Football experience to the coaching staff. In 2008, Coach Walker was the Head Coach of the Tri-Cities Fever, where his defense was ranked ffth in the af2. Prior to coaching the Fever, Coach Walker was the Head Coach of the Everett Hawks. In 2007, the Hawks defense ranked third in the af2.

"We are very happy to have Coach Walker on our staff," comments Blizzard Head Coach Bob Landsee. "He will bring a great wealth of Arena Football knowledge to the organization."

Prior to his coaching career, Coach Walker played 10 seasons in the AFL. Coach Walker won an ArenaBowl in 1997 with the Arizona Rattlers, and set an ArenaBowl record for tackles in a game with 11.5. Coach Walker retired from the AFL in 2006 ranked third all- time in the AFL in total tackles with 612.5. He ended his career with 84 pass blocks, 23 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles and 12 fumbles recovered.
