Spokane Shock News Release

December 8, 2008 - Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that WR Jason Rivers has been added to their 2009 roster.

Rivers finished his decorated collegiate career (in 2008) as the all-time leading receiver in the University of Hawaii's history before signing a free-agent contract with the Tennessee Titans.

Over his four-year career as a Warrior, Rivers played in 51 games and collected 292 receptions for 3,919 yards and 35 touchdowns. Rivers holds the NCAA record for the most receiving yards in a bowl game with 308 yards (14 receptions) against Arizona State in the 2006 Hawai'i Bowl.

"His numbers are obviously impressive; he is one of the highest-rated players that we have ever signed," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "During the recruiting process, we learned that his character is every bit as impressive as his numbers on the field."

According to Rivers, his game is not just about the numbers.

"I am a leader - in a game and in practice I lead by example," Rivers explained. "I'm tenacious - I don't give up. I'm definitely a go-getter on the field."

Rivers is the 22nd player added to the Shock's 2009 roster.
