Green Bay Blizzard News Release
Green Bay, WI: The Green Bay Blizzard Professional Football Club is pleased to announce its 2010 Indoor Football League schedule. The IFL will compete with 26 teams participating in 2 conferences. The United and Intense conferences are split into 6 total divisions. Each team will play a fourteen game regular season with either three or four rounds of playoffs to follow. This playoff format will be determined and announced by the league over the coming weeks. The Blizzard announced in a press conference last month it would be moving to the IFL after arenafootball2 and its parent Arena Football ceased operations this past season. The IFL is now the second largest football league in the world behind the National Football League.
The Blizzard will compete in the United Conference Central North Division with the Bloomington (IL) Xtreme, Chicago Slaughter and the La Crosse Spartans. "These new rivalries are going to be very exciting," stated Blizzard Owner and President Jeff Royle. "It doesn't get much better than Green Bay versus Chicago and on top of that we get in-state battles playing former Packer great Gilbert Brown's La Crosse Spartans, it will be an incredible first year in the IFL." In addition to home games featuring divisional match-ups the Blizzard will host the Omaha Beef, Wichita Wild and the Grand Rapids (MI) Thunder Hawks. Green Bay will play one exhibition game in La Crosse on February 21. Game start times and the 2010 promotional schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. Season tickets can be purchased by calling 920-405-1264.
