Bakersfield Blitz News Release
BAKERSFIELD - The Blitz are on the road to battle the Tennessee Valley Vipers in Huntsville, Alabama on Saturday, June 10. Kick off is set for 5:30 p.m. (PST). This will be the first time the Blitz and the Vipers have met this season.
"We do well on the road so I know everyone is looking forward to this game," Head Coach Gary Compton said. "Despite Tennessee Valley's record, we prepared like we are playing the best team in the league so hopefully we can come home with a victory."
The Blitz celebrated a win at home last Saturday against the Amarillo Dusters. The 40-39 victory brings the team to an overall record of 6-3 and sole possession of second place in the National West Division.
The Vipers are coming off a 74-33 loss last week against the Florida Firecats. The Vipers currently sit at fifth place in the American South Division with an overall record of 2-7.
Head Coach Gary Compton announced yesterday that new backup QB, Bobby Pesavento will start in this Saturday's game.
Great seats are still available for home games. For more information, call 377-BLITZ or visit www.bakersfieldblitz.com.
