Blitz Head to School, Blitz & Condors Attend Asthma Health Fair

Wednesday, May 5th - The Bakersfield Blitz will be attending a Celebrity Reader/Career Day at Palla Elementary School from 10:30am - 1:30pm. Select members of the Blitz will be reading to children and telling them about their careers as professional athletes. Palla Elementary is located at 800 Fairview Road in Bakersfield.

Thursday, May 6th - Come on down to the Holiday Inn Select for the IWR (Indoor War Report) with Blitz Head Coach Rick Van Horne as well as select Blitz players from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. This week's show will also include a special appearance by Wendy Henderson of the Boys & Girls Club discussing the Blitz Touchdown Club. The Blitz Touchdown Club is a program where fans can pledge to donate a certain dollar amount for every touchdown scored by the Bakersfield Blitz during the 2004 season. The IWR is a great chance for fans to meet their favorite members of the 2004 Blitz as well as win great prizes. The Holiday Inn Select is located at the corner of Truxtun Avenue and Q Street. The show can also be heard live each week on the Home of the Bakersfield Blitz, KGEO AM 1230.

Friday, May 7th - Join select Bakersfield Blitz players and the Blitz mascot, Crusher as they attend the Noble Elementary Carnival from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Noble Elementary School is located at 1015 Noble Avenue in Bakersfield.

Saturday, May 8th - Bakersfield Condors and Bakersfield Blitz players and mascots will be at the Kern County Asthma Coalition Health Fair from 10:00am - 2:00pm at Beach Park. Beach Park is located on the corner of 24th Street and Oak Street in Bakersfield.

RAYMOND TO HOST ADULT HOCKEY CAMP! Next week, Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond will host an adult hockey camp at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center. The camp cost $150 per person, with goaltenders receiving a discounted rate of $100. The camp will run from Monday, May 11th until Saturday, May 15th and will include over four hours of on-ice instruction with a minimum of one hour per day, plus a game on Saturday.
