Bleackley, Musil Join Wolves
April 10, 2017 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Wolves announced Monday that centers Conner Bleackley and Adam Musil have been assigned to the club by the St. Louis Blues.
Bleackley rejoins the Central Division-leading Wolves after skating in 14 contests for the Missouri Mavericks and collecting 17 points (7G, 10A) in that span. His ECHL stint included a three-point performance - the highest of his professional career - with two goals and an assist on March 30 against the Allen Americans.
The 21-year-old began the 2016-17 season, his rookie campaign, with the Wolves. He appeared in 44 games and registered 10 points (2G, 8A). He was reassigned by St. Louis to the Mavericks on March 10.
Musil - who played with Bleackley for the Red Deer Rebels - comes to Chicago following the conclusion of his fourth full season skating in the Western Hockey League. During the regular season, the 20-year-old appeared in 56 games for the Rebels and recorded 20 goals and 31 assists for 51 points. In Red Deer's first-round playoff series against the Lethbridge Hurricanes that went seven games, Musil accrued four assists.
St. Louis selected Musil in the fourth round, 94th overall, of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. On March 30, 2016, he signed an entry-level contract with the Blues.
The Delta, British Columbia, native has represented Canada in international competition. Most notably, he - along with new teammate Jordan Kyrou - earned a gold medal at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
Earlier Monday, defenseman Chris Butler rejoined the squad after being recalled from loan on Sunday by the Blues under emergency conditions.
All three will be available when the Wolves face off against the Iowa Wild on Thursday (April 13) at Wells Fargo Arena. Game time is 7 p.m., and the contest will stream on AHLLive.com. The teams reconvene on Iowa's home ice at 7 p.m. on Friday (April 14) for a game that will air on The U Too in the Chicago area.
The Wolves return to Allstate Arena on Saturday (April 15) for the regular-season finale against the Charlotte Checkers. The contest will be broadcast on CW50 as Chicago hosts its annual First Responders Night, presented by Turtle Wax. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., fans can participate in the Touch-A-Truck event and the first 3,500 fans into the building receive a drawstring backpack courtesy of Turtle Wax.
