After winning both starts and giving up just three goals, Bloomington Blaze netminder Zane Kalemba has been named the Central Hockey League Oakley Goaltender of the Week.

The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, won at Quad City 4-2 on Tuesday and defeated Tulsa 2-1 at home on Friday with Kalemba between the pipes on both nights. The 26-year-old Saddle Brook, New Jersey native stopped 55 of the 58 shots he faced during the week. Kalemba is 7-7-1 on the season with a 3.64 goals against average and an .892 save percentage. He is 5-3-0 in his last eight starts, allowing just nine goals during that span.

The Blaze have also placed forward Brodie Sheahan on the ten-day injured reserve list with an upper-body injury suffered in Friday's win over Tulsa. Sheahan holds the team lead with 17 assists, combined with seven goals for 24 points.

The Blaze open a four-game week tonight with a visit to Fort Wayne, followed by a Thursday trip to Dayton. Pre-game begins at 6:15 tonight on WJBC.com, and fans are invited to watch at Gill Street Sports Bar and Restaurant, 3002 Gill Street in Bloomington. The Blaze host the Missouri Mavericks on Friday on a Pepsi Date Night, when fans can bring a Pepsi product to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum box office when buying a reserved seat ticket and receive a second ticket free. Also on Friday, the purchase of any combo meal results in a free second combo meal of equal or lesser value. More information is available from the Blaze office at 309-434-2980.
