Oklahoma City Blazers News Release

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League signed forwards Michel Beausoleil, Dennis Fecteau and Francis Colin, head coach Doug Sauter announced today.

Beausoleil, a 5-10, 175-pounder from Montreal returns for his third straight season in a Blazers sweater. Last season, he led the club with 40 goals and 80 points. Beausoleil joined former Blazers star Joe Burton as the only players in Blazers franchise history to record consecutive 40-goal seasons. Beausoleil bagged 45 goals in his first tour with Oklahoma City during the 2004-05 campaign. For his career, Beausoleil has recorded 285 points (144-142-286) and served 447 penalty minutes while playing in all 280 games he has been eligible.

The 6-2, 215-pound Fecteau played the last two seasons in the QJAHL, splitting time between the St. Lawrence College Lions and College Lafleche Titans. In 96 games between the two clubs, he amassed 133 points (57-76-133) while serving 233 penalty minutes.

Colin, a 5-11, 175-pounder from Repentigny, Quebec, played last season in the Belgian Elite League with the Turnhout White Caps. In 38 games, he recorded 33 points (22-11-33) while serving 80 penalty minutes en route to the Belgian Elite League championship. Colin played during the 04-05 campaign with the Den Haag Wolves in Holland, scoring 19 points (11-8-19) while serving 24 penalty minutes in 29 games.

"Mike is a proven goal-scorer in this league who can also pass the puck well," said Sauter. "I expect the same kind of production from Mike this season that I've seen the last two. Fecteau is a player who has excellent size and plays a similar type of game to that of Beausoleil. Colin is a speedster who I expect to utilize his speed to his advantage to create opportunities for himself and others."

The addition of Beausoleil, Fecteau and Colin bring the number of players signed by the Blazers for the 06-07 season to 19. These three join veterans Tyler Fleck, Marty Standish, Jared Dumba and Peter Robertson as well as returnees Graham Dearle, Garrett Prosofsky and Sean Connors. The puck drops on the Blazers historic 15th season October 20 at the Ford Center against the Bossier-Shreveport MudBugs.
