Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, Texas - The 2006 CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks announced they have signed forward Jeff MacGregor and defenseman Lloyd Mullen. MacGregor comes from Canadian junior hockey while Mullen arrives from the Canadian college ranks. The pair are the tenth and eleventh players signed by the Bucks this season. The Bucks are offering a family four pack of season tickets for the 2006-07 CHL regular season, which works out to just over $7 a seat per game and is a 46 % savings off walkup prices. MacGregor, 6'1" 210 pounds, had a spectacular final season of juniors with the Restigouche Tigers in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. In 56 games the Winnipeg, Manitoba native, tallied 39 goals and 49 assists for 88 points. MacGregor finished in the top ten in the MJAHL in scoring. He was a two-time MJAHL Player of the Week.

"Jeff has great hands and a real ability to score goals," said Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski. "One of the things I really like about Jeff is his skating ability. The MJAHL is a very good league, so we are excited about the numbers he put up and can't wait to see him play for the Bucks."

In the 2004-05 season MacGregor had 20 goals and 38 points in 39 games. With Restigouche he was a teammate of defenseman Matt Simonson, who was signed to a contract earlier this off season by the Bucks.

"It is a dream come true to sign a pro contract," said MacGregor. "I am really excited to come to Laredo and meet the guys."

Prior to his two seasons with Restigouche, MacGregor spent two year in the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League with the Charleswood Hawks. He totaled 62 goals in two seasons with the Hawks.

The Bucks also signed defenseman Lloyd Mullen, a native of Raymond, Alberta. Mullen spent the last five seasons playing Canadian college hockey at the University of Lethbridge.

"Lloyd is a stay at home defenseman," said Ruskowski. "He is very physical, which will really adapt well to the pro game. He moves the puck well and is a good addition to our team."

Mullen, 6'0" 200 pounds, played 15 games for the Pronghorns this past season. In five years he totaled 13 goals and 32 points in 140 games. In his first season he was selected as the Pronghorn co-rookie of the year.

"I know Laredo has a great winning tradition and I am excited to be a part of that," said Mullen. "I am looking forward to winning a lot of hockey games and I want to help the team win a championship."

The 26 year old graduated with a degree in Management this past spring.

The Bucks open training camp on October 9th at the LEC. The regular season begins on October 21st at Corpus Christi. Laredo will have their home opener against Rio Grande Valley on October 28th at the LEC.

The Bucks are offering a family four pack of season tickets for the 2006-07 CHL regular season, that works out to just over $7 a seat per game and is a 46 % savings off walkup prices. For more info contact a Bucks season ticket representative at (956) 718-BUCK (2825).
