Broomfield, Colo. - In a hard fought game to the end, the Oklahoma City Blazers had the last word defeating the Rocky Mountain Rage hockey team tonight 4-3 at the Broomfield Event Center. Left winger Mark Wires led the effort for the Rage earning one goal and two assists. Winger Trevor Weisgerber added three assists.

Rocky Mountain took an early lead tallying two goals in their first three shots on goal. Left winger Nathan Rosychuk fired a slapshot in net at 5:08 after going over the back of a Blazers defender who went down attempting to block the shot. Wires scored the second goal 29 seconds later tipping in a shot from Adam Loncan.

Oklahoma City did not stay dormant for long. Defenseman Mark Wheeler opened scoring for the Blazers on the powerplay at 12:40 when the puck skipped over the right pad of Rage goaltender David Guerrera. Following a five-goal period, both teams kept their opponent scoreless in the second.
