SteelHounds Mike Ermatinger Honored by the CHL

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown SteelHounds, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League (CHL), announced today that SteelHounds medical trainer Mike Ermatinger has been named the CHL Athletic Trainer of the Year.

The award is given to the medical trainer judged to be the best at his or her job and is voted on by the trainers in the Central Hockey League.

Ermatinger hails from Cedar Springs, Michigan and attended Central Michigan University. He joined the SteelHounds last season prior to their inaugural campaign. Before joining the SteelHounds, Ermatinger worked for baseball's Reading Phillies of the Eastern League and the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League.

"Mike really is one of the good guys in the sport and does a tremendous job with our players," said SteelHounds Head Coach Kevin Kaminski. "We are very fortunate to have him with us and he is very deserving of such an honor."
