Oklahoma City Blazers News Release

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League signed centerman Dallas Flaman, head coach Doug Sauter announced late this afternoon.

Flaman, a 5-11, 180-pound native of Moosomin, Sask. is entering his third season as a professional. Last season, he skated with the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL, where he recorded 31 points (12-19-31) while serving 53 penalty minutes in 63 games played. Flaman spent his rookie season with the Topeka Tarantulas, recording 33 points (12-21-33) in only 39 games.

Prior to turning pro, Flaman competed at the Canadian university level with St. Francis Xavier University. In 92 games over four years, he amassed 35 points (15-20-35). Before attending college, he completed a five-season Western Hockey League career. Over 297 contests, primarily with the Prince Albert Raiders, he recorded 131 points (58-73-131).

"Dallas brings great leadership and exceptional work ethic to the hockey club," said Sauter. "At 27 years old and being involved in his third year of pro hockey, I consider him to be a veteran. His strong qualities are his defensive play and a scoring touch to go along with that."

The Blazers host two games this weekend, beginning with their Turnpike Rival, the Tulsa Oilers Friday night. Oklahoma City wraps up the weekend at home against the Amarillo Gorillas October 28. Both games face off at 7:35 p.m. at the Ford Center.
