Oklahoma City Blazers News Release

Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League signed left wing Jared Dumba and right wing/center Ryan Campbell, the club's front office announced today.

Dumba returns for a third full season as a member of the Blazers. The 6-0, 190-pound Dysart, Saskatchewan native recorded 34 points (20-14-34) in an injury-shortened 2001-02 campaign in which he played only 38 games. In 117 games as a professional, all with Oklahoma City, he has picked up 115 points (59-56-115) while serving 96 penalty minutes

The versatile Campbell will begin his second season in Oklahoma City and third full season as a professional. The 5-10, 190-pounder from Orleans, Ontario was the Blazers fifth leading scorer during the 2001-02 season with 41 points (21-20-41). In 117 games in the professional ranks, he has racked up 93 points (51-42-93) and 119 penalty minutes.

"I'm glad to have both players back in our lineup," said Blazers head coach Doug Sauter. "Dumba has a great set of hands and can bury the puck. I expect him to come back and have a strong season after injury slowed him down last season. Campbell is a perfect fit on this team. He shows up to play every night and he plays anywhere we need him to. I wouldn't hesitate to use him on defense if it was needed."

The signing of Campbell and Dumba brings the total number of players signed for the 2002-03 season to 10. The two join Peter Arvanitis, Peter Robertson, Dave Shields, Tyler Fleck, first-year defenseman Kane Ludwar and CHL all-stars Marty Standish, Jonathan Dubois and Blair Manning on the Blazers preseason roster.

The Blazers begin training camp in early October and will make their debut in the Ford Center on October 18. Season tickets are currently on sale. For more information, call 235-PUCK (7825).
